    Challenge #1

    Define Your Vision, Put Together Your Path

    When you're going to Slingshot a business, you need to know where to pitch it. It's fundamental to every businesses success. In the application process we got to know where each of the finalists were in their business and we got a sense of where they wanted to take it. That was pivotal in our decision to choose each one.

    This Challenge is all about making that real. It's about grounding an idea and often a dream so it has the best chance of success. This Challenge is about Building a Path to that Vision.

     

    The Finalists have already received this challenge, now they have 10 Days to Complete it. They'll be measured on the following:
    - Milestones Defined
    - Specific Targets incl. Sales, People, Customers,
    - How their own Role will Grow over the 5 Years,
    - Consistency in this Road Map i.e. no gaps
    - Is it Logical and Believable.

     

    CHALLENGE #1 IS DUE AT 12 NOON, 20TH MARCH 2018

    Challenge #2

    Build The Offering They Want

    One of our Favourite Quotes around Products is from advertising pioneer Bill Bernbach.

     

    "You can say the right thing about a product and no-one will listen. You've got to say it in a way that they feel it in their gut. Because if they don't feel it... nothing will happen."

     

    This is the essence of Challenge #2. Share with us what you are offering and how it fits your Vision / Mission / Purpose.

     

    We established that in the last Challenge. Now you've got to integrate it firmly into what you have to offer the marketplace. Finalists need to submit completed worksheets 3.1 & 3.6 with a 3 minute video explaining them.

     

    They have 10 Days to complete this challenge and will be measured as follows.

    - Offerings Named & Described Cohesively
    - Clarity How Each Offering Helps a Specific Target Customer
    - Clear Pricing Strategy
    - Min. 3 Whys that Directly Influence your Offering.
    - Each "Why" Explained & Related to Purpose / Mission / Vision

    Challenge #3

    Your Customer - Get Up Close and Personal

    The greatest ingredient to any business's success is it's in depth of knowledge of customers. There is always a danger of not delving deep enough to really get insights that can help you.

     

    In this Challenge we're focusing on Customers and How they Buy. In fact it's the most important challenge you'll take on this programme and indeed in your business. Spend the time here. You will never regret it.

     

    You will need to submit completed worksheets 4.4 and 4.5 with a 3 minute video explaining them. Use Module 4 of the Programme to Help You Complete this Challenge. Each step will contribute something to it. Pay particular attention to 4.1 and really use it as a brain-dump to help you filter your choice of customer.

     

    You Have 10 Days to Complete this Challenge and You'll be Measured as follows.

    - Choose & Name 3 Customer Categories that Fit Your Why
    - Complete Worksheet 4.4 for each noting their connection to challenge #2
    - How Specific is the Footprint & Consumption for each Customer Category
    - Complete Worksheet 4.5 for each Customer Category
    - Make sure you Map Their Buying Journey and not your Selling Journey
     

    CHALLENGE #3 IS DUE AT 12 NOON, MONDAY, 9TH APRIL 2018

    Challenge #4

    Find your gap in the Market, Build your brand and get Web ready

    CHALLENGE #4 IS ALL ABOUT FINDING YOUR GAP IN THE MARKETPLACE, BUILDING THE CODE FOR YOUR BRAND AND GETTING WEB READY.

     

    Yes, it's a lot but you are all very able for it. You have come so far and Teri, I and the other mentors are deeply impressed with how far each of you have come. Stick with it. You'll find it tough at first but, as always you will rally and make it through. We'll be there to help you every step of the way.

     

    You will need to submit completed worksheets 5.6, 6.2 and 9.5 with a 5 minute video explaining them.

    Use the information available on the programme to help you complete this Challenge. Each step will contribute something to it.

     

    You Have 10 Days to Complete this Challenge and You'll be Measured as follows.

    • Complete in full 5.6 Find the Gap for you. (2 Points)
    • Complete in full Worksheet 6.2 Building Your Brand Code (2 Points)
    • Have you Clear Objectives for your Website? Complete 9.5 - Create a Site Map that Flows and answers the questions that your customer wants to ask. (2 Points)
    • How Ready is Your Content? Does it Flow? Share with us the Content for Every Page of Your Site Map. (2 Points)
    • Where are the Calls to Action in Your Content? Do they Make Sense? (2 Points)

     

    CHALLENGE #4 IS DUE AT 12 NOON, THURSDAY, 19TH APRIL 2018

    Challenge #5

    Get Social

    CHALLENGE #5 IS ALL ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA.

    There are worksheets but there's also some interesting tools that we've incorporated as part of this challenge. They will really help you not only in this challenge but also in your business as you move forward.

    You will need to submit completed worksheets 10.1, 10.2, 10.3.

    Submit Social Media Schedules for each Channel you selected - see 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 for schedules for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Just use those schedules which apply to your business. If you are using a different channel then modify one of these accordingly noting the channel.

    Just remember One Channel One Schedule.

    You will also need to submit a 5 minute video explaining your challenge.

    You will really use everything you learned in Module 4 for this challenge because it's how you will put your knowledge of your customer to use in a very real sense.

    You Have 10 Days to Complete this Challenge and You'll be Measured as follows.
     

    • Complete in full 10.1 - Choose Your Channels & Set Your Social Goals. There must be at least 2 Channels.(2 Points) 
    • Use 10.2 to Benchmark Each Channel & Track where you are on Day 1 of this Challenge & Day 10 of this Challenge (2 Points) 
    • Complete in full 10.3 Your Voice in Each Channel for each channel selected. (2 Points) 
    • Using Canva, create 3 Visual Posts for each Channel and Write One Blog Post which is designed to meet a need in your customers. There's a Bonus point if you can also create a Useful Content Upgrade. (2 Points + 1 Extra for Content Upgrade) 
    • Create a Schedule for one week for each Channel. Use as appropriate 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or a modified version. There's a bonus point if you transfer that schedule into Buffer (Free Version) (2 Points + 1 Extra for Buffer)

    CHALLENGE #5 IS DUE AT 12 NOON, SUNDAY, 29TH APRIL 2018

    Challenge #6

    Your Story, Funnel & Plan

    CHALLENGE #6 IS YOUR LAST CHALLENGE AND IS ALL ABOUT YOUR STORY, YOUR FUNNEL AND YOUR PLAN

     

    This is all about bringing everything you've done together into the planning process. You will need to submit completed worksheets 11.1, 11.3, 11.4, 12.3 and 12.4 with a 5 minute video explaining them. Use the previous Modules of the Programme to Help You Complete this Challenge. This is where we bring it all together.

     

    You Have 10 Days to Complete this Challenge and You'll be Measured as follows.

    • Complete the Story Layers for 3 Customer Categories in 11.1 Make Your Story a Movie (2 Points)
    • 11.3 Build Your Calendar Around them from May to December. Don't leave any customer out. (2 Points)
    • 11.4 How Does Your Funnel Flow? for 2 Customer Categories (2 Points)
    • 12.3 Your Objectives in Action - Create one project including tasks to meet each objective - reference 2.7. (2 Points)
    • 12.4 Your Plan on a Page. Complete in Full. (2 Points)

    CHALLENGE #6 IS DUE AT 12 NOON, WEDNESDAY, 9TH MAY 2018
